Endometriosis Diagnosis andTreatments
Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological condition where tissue similar to the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) grows outside the uterus. This tissue responds to the menstrual cycle like normal endometrial tissue—thickening, breaking down, and bleeding—but unlike the uterine lining, it has no way to exit the body. This leads to inflammation, pain, and scar formation.
Imaging techniques like USG or MRI are often unable to diagnose Endometriosis, and one has to rely on the history and the clinical examination.
Laparoscopy remains the gold standard for diagnosis as well as for treatment
